April is set to be a busy month for Colt and we’re excited to be sponsoring a key event in the European Ethernet Community Calendar.  Our host operator sponsorship of Ethernet Europe in Munich, Germany on April 17 and 18 at the Hilton Munich Park Hotel sends out a clear message about our commitment to carrier excellence in 2012.

At the event, I’ll be presenting on the evolution of Ethernet services and what this means for the wholesale market. Ethernet services have been around for some time and Colt has a broad service offering but new innovations are accelerating demand in the wholesale segment.

The nature of wholesale customer demands is changing the way the Ethernet market operates.  Be it the need for service tools or automated business interfaces, wholesale customers and partners are demanding more from the Ethernet network and the streamlined service interfaces.

However, this demand has to be seen in the context of market maturity.  Network coverage, performance and tools are relatively mature assets in the wholesale market, whilst service-orientated delivery and automation are only starting to gather pace.  The key question is how can operators make the most of the opportunity bought about by this change?

The show itself is a premiere event for the region that sits at the heart of Colt’s business.  Our position as Europe’s leading information delivery platform has been achieved by a deep understanding of the multi-country demands on capacity, speed and information across the continent’s major commercial hubs.

We look forward to sharing some of our experiences at the show and hope that you can join us for what is set to be great event. Light Reading is billing this year’s’ event as the best yet with new elements to the show, now in its seventh year. Collocation with MEF’s quarterly meeting, expanded coverage of Ethernet-enabled cloud services and support from Heavy Reading’s new Ethernet Executive Council will add new dimensions to the event for visitors and participants alike.

You can keep up to date with our progress at the show by following @Colt_Technology and our blog. Updates on the show overall can be found on Twitter @LRlive and via the show’s LinkedIn page.
