Colt win Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award

It’s my great pleasure to reveal that Colt won at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards on Tuesday night. Our winning project was on the use of Ethernet Smart Demarcation and the ability to provide customers with increased service performance, SLA and service assurance to off-net locations across Europe and the USA.

We’ve been able to achieve this thanks to our partnership with Overture who supply the Smart Demarcation Device that we use in this service provision. It allows us to offer customers advanced features such as Class of Service, Proactive Fault Notification and On-Line Performance Reporting.

We’ve positioned many thousands of these devices across the network and we’ve now increased the amount availability of customer services delivered over via our partner networks with over 200 Ethernet External Network to Network Interfaces (E-NNIs). Each device is fully integrated into our operational systems and additional platforms meaning we can control customer services end-to-end wherever they are delivered to.
