Steve Neff is a retired financial services executive who is now active on several boards and deeply engaged in his communities of interest.

In 2020, after 23 years of service, Mr. Neff retired as Head of Asset Management for Fidelity Investments, a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to individuals, institutions, and financial intermediaries. Mr. Neff was also a member of the firm's executive Operating Committee. He joined Fidelity in 1996 and held a number of senior-level technology roles at the firm, including Head of Technology & Global Services, Enterprise Chief Technology Officer and Head of Asset Management Technology.

Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Neff was with Salomon Brothers in New York and London. He served in a number of technology leadership roles, including Director of Applications Development for Salomon Brothers International Limited in London and Senior Operations Officer responsible for infrastructure and technology operations in New York. Mr. Neff began his career with the IBM Corporation in New York in 1974. He held several systems engineering and technology management positions through 1987 supporting the financial services industry and the IBM marketing and service divisions.

Since retiring from full-time Fidelity service in 2020, Mr. Neff has served on several Fidelity boards as an independent director. This includes serving as Director for Fidelity Digital Asset Services, LLC and Director and Audit Committee Chair for Fidelity Personal Trust Company FSB. In May 2023, Mr. Neff joined Fidelity’s main board, FMR LLC, as Director and Audit Committee member.

Mr. Neff is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, and believes that the innovation necessary to deliver solutions that exceed customers’ needs is best achieved by embracing the unique differences, talents and perspectives of each employee. To put this belief into practice, Mr. Neff is particularly proud of his past role as the executive sponsor of Fidelity’s PRIDE employee resource group, a firm-wide team that supports the LGBTA community.

Mr. Neff is an emeritus Board member of Common Impact, a non-profit organization that connects business professionals with high potential local non-profits, and an emeritus Board member of St. Francis House, which provides comprehensive services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Boston. Mr. Neff also rides each year with Team Fidelity in the Pan-Mass Challenge® to raise funds for cancer care and research at Dana-Farber.

Mr. Neff received a Bachelor of Arts degree in math from Rutgers College in 1974. He and his wife Mary have five children and live in Sudbury, MA.
