Colt named a Leader in Gartner’s first Magic Quadrant for European Managed Hosting

London, 25 June 2013

Colt Technology Services today announced that Gartner has listed Colt the highest on the “ability to execute” axis for managed hosting across Europe, in the first Magic Quadrant for European Managed Hosting.

Richard Oosterom, EVP Group Strategy & Business Development, Colt, said: “We are delighted with Colt’s positioning in the first Magic Quadrant for European Managed Hosting. We believe this reinforces Colt’s leadership position established in both the IDC ‘IaaS Competitive Landscape in Europe’ report and Experton’s Cloud Vendor Benchmark 2013, Our breadth of portfolio, focus on customer service and pan-European network are all key to our ability to successfully deliver IT services across Europe today.”

According to Gartner, when considering the ability to execute, the most important criteria were service offerings and service excellence, as reflected in customer experiences with sales, support and operations.

Colt offers IT services from their 20 datacentres across Europe, ranging from colocation to fully managed hosting and cloud services. As recently announced, Colt’s enterprise class cloud services are now available from 7 of those datacentres giving it the largest cloud footprint in Europe.

Oosterom continues: “Colt believes this position in this Magic Quadrant recognises the importance of having both a broad hosting portfolio and a pan-European network, in delivering service excellence. Our focus on seamless delivery across countries and expanding our geographical reach in Europe and beyond means that we are well placed to follow our customers where their business takes them. With our extensive network, datacentres and focus on speedy provisioning and deployment, we are playing an increasingly critical role in helping organisations run and transform their business.”

In Gartner’s recent report, “Critical Capabilities for Pan-European Network Services,” Colt received an overall score of 4.4 out of 5 for its core city backbone use case, as part of Gartner’s research into Pan-European network service markets and players.

Further details about Colt’s position in the Magic Quadrant for European Managed Hosting are detailed on Gartner’s website.

Colt’s managed hosting services are delivered using Colt Optimum services which are differentiated through their unique combination of network reach, integrated technology, service management and commercial flexibility. Colt Optimum is the name of the direct-to-enterprise portfolio across IT, Network and Communication Services. These complement Colt Ceano which is designed specifically for Colt’s indirect channel.
