Colt, Europe’s leading information delivery platform, has been selected by global IT security specialist McAfee to equip its office in Diegem with tailored, flexible, modular communication services. McAfee selected Colt Smart Office, which combines simplicity, reliability and fast installation to deliver a tailored solution providing day-to-day connectivity, voice, internet and data access.
Colt Smart Office has been installed in McAfee’s headquarters in Diegem, Brussels in order to allow McAfee’s employees to work more efficiently while optimising their level of customer service. Given the importance of good voice and data access to the smooth running of its head office in Diegem, it was critical to McAfee that the implementation of the new solution was quick and that it guaranties to prioritise its business-critical services in order to ensure optimal levels of service.
Colt’s single source network provision for both voice and data access, simplifies the management of multiple network providers, guaranteeing competitive rates. In addition, Smart Office’s suite of managed services including managed email, together with email security, managed firewall and managed storage also give McAfee the option of having Colt take on the management of these services in the future.
“This solution enabled us to quickly get set up with voice and data access without having to worry about the installation. From the start of our collaboration, Colt took care to respect our key requirement of quick implementation,” said Thierry Swaenepoel, IT Manager at McAfee. “It was Colt’s ability to offer us a turnkey solution that met our priorities that convinced us to adopt Smart Office. The fact that Colt uses a single access circuit for both voice and data enables a very fast installation timeframe of less than 25 working days, five to ten days less than for two separate circuits. The intelligent router that forms part of the Smart Office solution means McAfee benefits from the use of a single circuit without having to compromise on quality of service through its ability to give priority information precedence when necessary. In the case of a company where being contactable is key to offering a better service to its customers, it is essential for its telephone communications to maintain their quality and take precedence over the sending and receiving of data.
