The cooperation with two companies (dual provider strategy) ensures a high security level for the network. Both partners will support Commerzbank sites throughout Germany. Sensitive sites will be taken care of by both providers jointly.
Commerzbank has been working together with both partners for a long time already. “Colt and QSC are two partners that not only offer highly available and fast data transfer, but also a high degree of service quality,” explains Boris Wiegmann, Senior Project Manager at Commerzbank AG. “This has been demonstrated by both providers in the course of our long-standing cooperation.”
The optimisation of the wide area network is taking place following the conclusion of the integration of the Dresdner Bank IT into the systems of Commerzbank. In the course of the IT integration Commerzbank had focused on the successful modification of the applications and the migration of data. Thus the existing networks of Commerzbank and Dresdner Bank were initially interconnected on the basis of the established infrastructures to form a secure network.
