COLT joins VMware vCloud initiative

COLT, a leading European provider of business communications, has today announced it has joined the VMware vCloud™ initiative. The move demonstrates the company’s commitment to partner with key players to deliver enterprise cloud services.

COLT has already implemented VMware solutions for its customers and sees that its cloud offering is being strengthened by joining the VMware vCloud™ initiative. COLT customers will have more freedom to choose when and how to take advantage of cloud services to drive greater levels of business efficiency, security and performance.

Under the VMware vCloud initiative, VMware works closely with cloud providers to deliver users a reliable, enterprise ready experience without the lock-in associated with many currently available cloud options. This enables customers to retain flexibility of choice irrespective of hardware, operating system or applications, so they can feel confident about deploying current and future applications internally or to COLT’s cloud services.

Maggy McClelland, managing director of COLT Managed Services comments, “We are delighted to announce our membership in the VMware vCloud™ initiative. Our ongoing relationship with VMware is key to giving our customers even more confidence in the quality, flexibility and security of our enterprise cloud services. We have already delivered many successful VMware-based solutions to our customers and providing a migration path to our cloud-based services via VMware vCloud™ will give them even greater business benefits.”

Dan Chu, vice president of emerging business, VMware said, “For a leading managed services provider like COLT to have joined the VMware vCloud™ initiative is a strong endorsement of the benefits that VMware-based virtualisation solutions can bring to enterprise cloud service providers. As an increasing number of businesses turn toward VMware-based cloud solutions to enable fast, reliable, and flexible infrastructure, it is crucial that they can rely on providers like COLT to provide a secure, robust, and agile platform. We are delighted that COLT and its customers can now fully benefit from the business benefits that membership in the VMware vCloud™ initiative will bring.”
