Our commitment to the environment

Our role as a digital infrastructure provider gives us a platform to accelerate sustainability transformations through innovation and the application of technological solutions, becoming the sustainable supplier of choice and helping customers improve their ESG performance. These are key elements of our business strategy underpinned by our ESG–by-design approach.

Our commitment to the environment

Our total market-based GHG emissions have decreased by 35% from our 2019 baseline year

GHG emissions

Scope 1: Direct GHG emissions from our company's operations under our operational control, including on-site combustion activities e.g. natural gas consumption, refrigerants, fuel and transport.

Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, including heat and steam, for our own use, these emissions are calculated following the market-based and location-based approach.

Scope 3: Other indirect value chain emissions arising from our activities, including emissions from the production of purchased materials and services and capital goods. Upstream and downstream leased assets; fuel and energy related activities; waste generated in operations; business travel and employee commuting; upstream transportation and distribution.

We've reduced our total carbon footprint by 35% since 2019 - saving the emissions it would take to drive a car around the world 20,000 times*.

*Emissions equivalent determined using EPA's emissions calculator. Based on miles driven by an average gasoline-powered passenger vehicle and Earth's circumference estimate of 24,901 miles equating to one lap.

Recycle Icon

We've recycled more than 590 tonnes of IT hardware - that's heavier than a full Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft.

*Airbus A380's maximum takeoff weight is 575 tonnes.

Saving Energy Icon

By powering down Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) switches and SDH devices across Europe, we're saving 13.2 GWh of grid electricity annually.

Seaweed Icon

We helped sequester and avoid 8.15 tonnes of CO2e by investing in local seaweed cultivation through Carbon Kapture.

Our commitment to our people

Supporting our workforce

To further promote gender equality within Colt Group, we became a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact's Women Empowerment Principles in April 2024. We also joined the UN Global Compact's Target Gender Accelerator Programme and benchmarked our gender action plan using the Women Empowerment Principles Gap Analysis Tool.

Across Colt Group, we've completed over 5,000 hours of training on LinkedIn learning, with over 4,000 employees participating.

We made Percipio available for the first time in 2024, with our employees completing 4,750 hours of training that year.

Our commitment to our community

Driving social impact

As part of our Global Social Impact Strategy, our employees spent more than 1,000 days volunteering at external charities and initiatives - about as much times as Da Vinci dedicated to his masterpiece "The Last Supper".
