Colt selected as EMEA ‘Service Provider of the Year’ and ‘Best Business Ethernet Service’ at Metro Ethernet Forum Awards

Colt, a leading provider of business communications and IT managed services, was awarded the Metro Ethernet Forum’s (MEF) top honour, the EMEA ‘Service Provider of the Year’ award, presented at Carrier Ethernet World Congress. This accolade, combined with the MEF award for ‘Best Business Ethernet Service’, cements Colt’s leadership in Ethernet services and confirms the strength of its pioneering Ethernet services portfolio. This is the sixth consecutive year that Colt has collected an MEF award.

Colt beat 13 other operators from around Europe to win these awards for its broad Ethernet services portfolio which provide scalable and flexible solutions to support organisation’s developing business needs. These awards come one week after Colt announced it has successfully completed its first European field trial of 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) over a live network. Both awards, and the recent trial success, mark further milestones in Colt’s 18 year evolution supporting ever-increasing bandwidth and flexibility demand across Europe.

Colt’s Chief Technology Officer, Luke Broome commented: “We are very proud to win these awards and to be recognised for delivering innovative Ethernet services across Europe. A strong Ethernet capability is central to our mission to be the information delivery platform for European businesses. It is the foundation upon which we build integrated IT and network solutions for our customers.”
