A cost effective and manageable way of connecting a large number of sites to a head office, data centre or carrier hotel. Ethernet Hub and Spoke Service is a fully managed point to multi-point service.
Ethernet Hub and Spoke is a ‘one to many’ architecture that offers a cost-effective solution to connect multiple services/locations (spokes) to a central site through a single, aggregated interface. This reduces complexity and is space efficient at the Hub site.
Coverage and Choice
The Colt Ethernet Hub and Spoke service is an aggregated Ethernet service allowing a customer to interconnect Metro, National or International Spokes into a single Ethernet Hub. All of the spoke services are full duplex, which means that the customer can simultaneously use the full amount of service bandwidth ordered in both directions.
The Hub location can support bandwidths of 1Gbps or 10Gbps while Spoke location bandwidth speeds can range from 2Mbps to 1Gbps. The individual spoke circuits are separated using VLANs.
Fully managed service
Colt acts a single point of responsibility and can ensure necessary levels of separation by using our own network throughout. This allows your own IT professionals time to focus on the application layer services that help drive your business. Colt design, implement, manage and maintain the service, thus ensuring that you don’t need to invest your own resources in specialist skills or hardware.
Our business-grade Ethernet Hub & Spoke service meets the most stringent technical criteria and has been certified by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) to the Carrier Ethernet 2.0 standard.
