Colt delivers a secure cloud message at AWS Summit

HomeBlogsColt delivers a secure cloud message at AWS Summit

We totally agreed with the organisers of AWS Summit when they said “More and more we are realising that the current shift in the technology space is unlike any other in our lifetime, and it’s happening at a startling pace: cloud computing is radically changing the way companies do IT.”

Therefore it was no surprise that the recent AWS Summit held in London on the 6th – 7th of July 2016 was packed full of IT Directors, CEO’s, Analysts and other business leaders, all keen to learn more about how to adopt and deploy cloud computing across their organisation.

Colt was a keen contributor to the debate, with a busy stand and lots of Colt technical experts on hand to discuss how to deploy on demand, secure and high performance connectivity to cloud services.

During the two days, visitors could attend more than 35 sessions ranging in technical depth from services intros, new service deep dives, solutions and tech talks. Ian Massingham, from AWS delivered a strong presentation as he picked out the four pillars necessary for best practice use of AWS which were;

Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimisation

This was a message which resonated well with visitors to the Colt stand who recognised the need to deploy these principles when accessing their cloud services. Rather than use the public internet to access cloud applications, a dedicated link from Colt which directly connects your data centre or buildings to an  AWS PoP is the best way to reduce your network costs, increase security and bandwidth throughput, and provide a better customer experience.

Colt’s delivery of on demand services was also a key stand talking point. On demand services enable businesses to respond flexibly to the need to change location, direction, or to get bigger or smaller as needed. For more information download our whitepaper about how SDN technology and on demand networking is set to transform your business.

Overall, it was a fascinating event for all members of the cloud computing community and business leaders alike. We hope to see you at AWS Summit next year, but in the meantime you can find out more about our dedicated cloud access services here.
