Colt increases fibre capacity in Berlin
Last week we followed news of our expansion in Dublin, with plans for an expansion of the Colt IQ Network in Berlin, enabling digital transformation in the region through on-demand and high bandwidth services.
Berlin has been lauded as ‘Europe’s Silicon Valley’, competing with London as the continent’s premier startup hub and source of venture capital. Combined with relatively low costs of renting office and living space, it’s no wonder that Berlin was named the fastest-growing business ecosystem in Europe.
This latest expansion further extends Colt’s global footprint, connecting more than 500 on net buildings and will see more than 100km of additional fibre being put into the ground in the German capital. It connects the technology park and media hub of Berlin Adlershof along with Potsdam.
It’s not just Berlin – Colt networks in Germany can be found in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart and we’re at an advanced stage of expanding our network in Eastern Europe.
We’ve been in Berlin since 1997 and the city is an important one for Colt. This latest expansion will help us support businesses there as they move.
