Colt Technology Services has again been recognised at the yearly NGON & DCI Awards for its unrivalled data centre interconnectivity.

Taking place in Nice last week, the awards which give recognition to the achievements made by operators, data centres and solution providers in the optical networking industry, have named Colt the ‘Best Data Centre Interconnect Provider 2018’.

This is the second year in a row that Colt has taken home this award, highlighting the reach and density of the Colt IQ Network, which is comprised of more than 26,000 buildings and 850+ data centres.

“Colt’s investment in the Colt IQ Network and its drive to be the most customer oriented business in the industry is really starting to pay dividends,” says Peter Coppens, Vice President Product Portfolio, Colt Technology Services. “Whether it be launching into new markets such as the US, or partnering with the likes of Google and IBM on their cloud offering, Colt is moving towards its ambition of being the leader in enabling our customers’ digital transformation, by delivering tailored connectivity solutions that meet the growing needs of multinational organisations today.”

At the NGON & DCI Awards, Colt was recognised for its advanced data centre interconnect solution called DC Net, which makes it fast and easy to connect between Colt’s comprehensive network of data centres that is spread across 207 cities within 29 countries in 4 continents. Colt’s IQ Network provides best in class optical Wavelength and Spectrum offerings, with such services being able to be provisioned from 100G to 400G, and ultra-high bandwidth Ethernet services up to 100G.

Colt’s pre-provisioned connectivity and its advanced Software Defined Networking (SDN) enabled On Demand proposition, sees businesses have the ability to scale their bandwidth up and down depending on their business requirements. For Colt’s customers, this means that Colt provides a DC solution that can be as agile as their operations require.

Colt’s DC Net offering has also been recognised by Cloudscene, with the market analysis business naming Colt the number one DC service provider in both EMEA and Asia.
