Colt employees across the globe have come together to raise funds for MSF as part of their Coronavirus Crisis Appeal.

London, UK, 15 July 2020Colt Technology Services has today announced that its staff have raised €20,000 for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) to support the charity as it works to fight Coronavirus.

An independent charity dedicated to providing support in conflict zones, natural disasters, and during epidemics, MSF recently turned its attention to assisting those with, and affected by, Coronavirus. Wanting to show its support, Colt and its staff started a fundraising appeal with the goal of helping those communities worst affected by the virus.

In order to raise money for MSF, Colt staff participated in virtual runs, quizzes and other online activities, as a way to pull together even though staff were apart.

The funds that Colt has raised will go towards urgently needed medical care and support to counter this new disease; sending medical teams where they are needed most, protecting healthcare staff and providing medical supplies.

“As our worlds and working environments started to dramatically change due to Coronavirus, Colt staff immediately started asking how they could help those in need,” Patrick Godden, Colt’s Head of CSR UK said.

“We had previously been aware of the amazing work done by MSF, and when we found out about their Coronavirus Crisis Appeal, we knew this is something that Colties would want to get behind. We couldn’t be more thrilled with what we have been able to do as a company, and it just goes to further highlight how CSR is really at the core of what we do and how we do it at Colt.”

Rose Petherick, Community, Corporate and Events Fundraising Manager for MSF added: “Colt’s support for our Coronavirus Crisis Appeal has been absolutely incredible. The pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges for MSF, as we have continued our life-saving medical aid work in more than 70 countries, whilst responding to the Coronavirus crisis all over the world.

“We are so grateful to every member of the Colt team, who have all rallied together to run, cycle, host quizzes and games, raising a fantastic amount for our work. It has been very moving to see the commitment of the team to our work, when funding for our Coronavirus response is so crucial, and at a time when our fundraising with challenges and events has been heavily impacted. Thank you so much, Colt.”
