Colt was recognised twice the inaugural Network Transformation Awards, which took place at the SDN NFV World Congress, the principal network innovation conference in Europe held earlier this month. Colt’s SD WAN offering won the industry’s ‘Best SD WAN Service’ award, while its Dedicated Cloud Access On Demand Service was recognised as the ‘Best New Cloud Optical Solution’.
“This latest recognition continues to prove Colt’s leading position in the connectivity industry,” said Peter Coppens, Vice President, Product Porfolio at Colt. “Enterprise demand for managed SD WAN services is growing exponentially. Colt’s native SD WAN solution was one of the first to market in Europe, and we’re already seeing a lot of traction in our customer base. Customers are demanding SD WAN services that make the WAN network more agile, easier to manage and gives them affordable higher bandwidth access, including to those branch sites that are not located in prime business areas where competing fibre is available.”
Colt SD WAN provides a simplified approach to deploying and managing remote branch office connectivity. By leveraging the stability, resiliency and Quality-of-Service of private MPLS-based IPVPN connectivity with the flexibility and affordability of public internet, Colt has developed a hybrid WAN network, where customers can offload non-critical data to a secured internet tunnel, freeing up bandwidth for business critical data.
Superior customer experience is provided through a simple-to-use portal where traffic is steered over internet/MPLS on an application-by-application basis. Both access methods can be switched in real time based on thresholds for bandwidth, latency, jitter, packet loss or link failure.
Colt’s Dedicated Cloud Access On Demand service transforms the private cloud connectivity customer experience. This innovative SDN-enabled offering allows customers to request connections into the cloud and flex bandwidth needs via an intelligent online customer portal, reducing traditional telco service delivery lead times from weeks/months to near real time.
The Layer 123 Network Transformation Awards, judged by an independent panel of leading analysts, celebrate innovation and excellence in delivering the next generation of products and services founded on SDN and NFV. The awards were presented at the SDN NFV World Congress, one of the largest events for carrier network transformation industry leaders with more than 2000 executives, decision makers, and activists participating.
