Colt wins MEF Ethernet Excellence Awards for the eleventh consecutive year
Colt has been recognized with five awards at the prestigious Metro Ethernet Forum’s (MEF) Ethernet Excellence Awards 2015. This is the eleventh consecutive year that Colt was recognized at the awards ceremony. It follows Colt’s recent success at the Capacity Europe event, where it received three Global Carrier awards.
Colt has won five awards in the following categories:
– Network Innovation – Worldwide
– Wholesale Service Provider of the Year – EMEA
– Best Enterprise Application – two awards for the “Media” and “Professional Services” categories
– Retail Service Provider of the Year – EMEA
Matthias Hain, Director of Product Management, Network Services at Colt commented: “We are honoured to be recognised by the MEF for our excellence and leadership in developing and delivering Ethernet services. We are very proud of our portfolio of innovative Ethernet services and will continue to work hard to improve how we can support our customers.”
A number of enhancements to Colt’s Ethernet services during the last year ensured Colt was shortlisted for nine awards in total.
Colt embarked on a strategic initiative to develop advanced, elastic network services based on SDN and NFV capabilities. This will allow a suite of on-demand Ethernet services consistent with the MEF’s Third Network vision. Colt’s SDN network will transform the user experience by improving self-service capabilities for real-time ordering, provisioning and service flexing.
Colt also launched its DCNet data centre interconnect services in EMEA and Asia to significantly reduce the delivery time of services. Moreover, major cloud providers now rely on Colt’s Dedicated Cloud Access service, which provides high speed, secure connectivity to connect enterprises to the cloud.
Furthermore, Colt launched a high-capacity, long-distance European network connecting 13 major European cities. This network is designed to support rapid provisioning of 100G Ethernet services. Colt’s pan-European network has also been further expanded in the Netherlands, Iberia and the Nordics.
Colt also achieved CE2.0 certification for its international network services.
