Last week Colt won the award for the “Best network technology innovation” at the 17th annual Global Carrier Awards (GCAs). This award recognised Colt’s contribution to developing industry leading Application Programmable Interfaces (APIs).
The award ceremony was part of Capacity Europe, a major event in our calendar and one of the first in-person events we’ve attended since the pandemic.
We picked up the award thanks to our investment in our SDN/NFV technology to automate the customer journey, Colt On Demand and Number Hosting API and our partnerships with AT&T, Equinix, PacketFabric, Zayo, IBM and leading CSPs.
Network On Demand APIs allow customers to generate a fully validated quote and place an order for new network connectivity on a fully automated basis – removing manual steps and cutting cycle times. These services can also be provisioned in near real-time, reducing lead times and costs. For Voice services, we allow our customers to automate number management to reserve, port, and activate numbers through our APIs, so they can quickly meet the needs of end-customers, without the challenge of developing their own PSTN voice architecture.
Colt had a strong presence at Capacity Europe this year, from sponsoring the welcome drinks on Monday evening in partnership with Ciena, to speaking slots across the conference agenda featuring Keri Gilder, Ruth Welter, Rob McCabe and Peter Coppens. Our team were there on a completely voluntary basis and it was fantastic to see our customers and partners after so long.
