IBM and Colt: Enabling Enterprise Digital Transformation

HomeBlogsIBM and Colt: Enabling Enterprise Digital Transformation

Security, availability and resiliency are critical to today’s enterprise. This is why IBM and Colt are pleased to announce our newly extended collaboration. Together, IBM Cloud Direct Link and Colt can provide a direct connection to IBM Cloud PoPs located in Europe, which  greatly simplifies provisioning speed and provides optimum traffic routes to improve customer experiences.

The intent of our extended collaboration is to help our customers create a digital transformation strategy, leveraging the Colt IQ Network to provide global and optimized 100Gbps connectivity. This collaboration sees Colt and IBM provide high bandwidth services for rapid data transfer, backup/disaster recovery (DR), hybrid workloads and private connections. The combination of Colt and the IBM Cloud Direct Link Connect offering has provided a highly-customized integration with a wide range of premium connectivity options at a variety of speeds.

Colt enables enterprises to connect to their nearest Cloud PoP, through their extensive network connecting more than 26,000 buildings in 200+ cities around the world. With IBM Cloud Direct Link, we can provide a seamless PoP connection in the European region—with new locations across London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. Our expansion will continue, with the Asia Pacific region following in the coming months.

The need for network security is increasingly vital—and a key investment for industries such as banking institutions that want to secure financial transactions while avoiding the public Internet, and need fast response times to reduce latency for sensitive workloads. As our IBM Cloud Direct Link portfolio offers dedicated, secure connectivity to the Colt IQ Network via Ethernet Line, it’s our goal to secure workloads for our customers with a private connection. Moreover, IBM is delivering key services to the enterprise, including DDoS protection, next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAN, encryption, and more, to power your workloads.

As we each expand our network connectivity, we’ll help fuel secure cloud expansion across the world, leveraging Colt’s agile, on-demand access, fiber-based connectivity, and “pay-per-use” pricing—along with guaranteed service quality.
