Cloud storage powered by fast, secure leased lines

Nekojarashi Inc.

Nekojarashi was established in 2006 as a Mac-oriented online storage service provider. Responding to user demand, their service portfolio evolved into web development, application development, Apple device integration, system administration, and other fields. Their client base now numbers over 2,000 companies as a result, spread over three main business areas: networks, development, and Apple.

In October of 2014, Nekojarashi released Jector™, a cloud storage platform tailored for digital arts studios. It features unified project management and productivity enhancements to help users work with greater fluidity.

Nekojarashi’s business challenge

With the impending on-boarding of a major film production company, Nekojarashi needed a better connectivity solution, one that was secure and not dependent on the internet, with dedicated, high-speed bandwidth and data centre services – essentially a leased line. However, slow service delivery time and high costs associated with leased line services posed a challenge. Additionally, Nekojarashi needed a conveniently located data centre so their engineers would have quick access as required.

Future plans

Nekojarashi plans to expand sales of their solution package – Jector™ and Colt’s data centre and network services – to video production companies and others. They also plan to expand business outside of Japan to meet customer requirements. As they enter the international market, Nekojarashi plans to work with and benefit from Colt’s capabilities, including multilingual customer support in Japanese and local market languages.

We were looking to better provide cloud storage service to our customers and felt that Colt offered an attractive solution that had great value, high security and quick service initialisation. As we also aspire to enter international markets in the future, we believe that Colt’s network and data centre services will give us an edge.Shin-ichi Kaneko, Director of Information Systems, Nekojarashi Inc.
