Colt continuously evolve the data services portfolio to meet the demands of our customers. We launched our next-generation modular Carrier Ethernet Multi-Service Platform (Modular MSP) already back in October 2013. In the meantime the platform is available in 11 European cities and we continue to stretch into the rest of Europe with 21 further cities to be rolled out in 2014. The Modular Multi-Service Platform not only puts Colt in the position to deliver Ethernet services over a fully modular, open and vendor agnostic Carrier Ethernet platform, enabling a quick turn-up of data services over multi-vendor networks, but encompasses virtual CPE capabilities for Internet-Access and IP-VPN services as well

The innovation and deployment of the new Modular Multi-Service-Platform was recognized by Light Reading as a finalist 2014 in the area of “Most Innovative Ethernet/Optical Service” as it includes the concept of software defined networking. Light Reading highlight the virtualisation of the Customer Premise Equipment (“virtual CPE”) as well.

Informa Telecoms & Media‘s “Network Virtualization Industry Award” for the SDN Technology of the Year has been assigned to Colt and our partner Cyan for rolling out the Modular Multi-Service-Platform. This confirms the excellence and the outstanding technologies developed for the network functions virtualization and software defined networking community in the last 12 months.
