Hamish McRae

Hamish McRae, Associate Editor and Economics Commentator at The Independent and City Columnist at the Mail on Sunday

Hamish is one of Europe's top speakers on future trends in economics, business and society. He is the principal economic commentator for The Independent online, and a columnist for the London Evening Standard and the Mail on Sunday. He is also the author of the acclaimed work on the future, The World in 2020: Power, Culture and Prosperity. McRae's other books include Capital City - London as a Financial Centre, co-authored with Frances Cairncross, and What Works: Success in Stressful Times, which was long-listed for the Business Book of the Year at the FT/Goldman Sachs Awards in New York in 2010. He is working on a new book, provisionally titled The World in 2050. His awards include the David Watt Prize for outstanding political journalism, and he was the Business and Finance Journalist of the Year in the 2006 British Press Awards. He is an Adjunct Professor at Trinity College, Dublin, and has been a Visiting Professor at the School of Management at Lancaster University, a council member of the Royal Economic Society, and a Governor of the National Institute for Economic and Social Research. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.

Andrew Edison, Executive Vice President – Sales, Marketing & Customer Relationship Management, Colt

Andrew Edison is Executive Vice President (EVP) – Sales, Marketing and Customer Relationship Management. In this position, Andrew is responsible for driving Colt’s commercial strategy, leading global teams across sales, presales, marketing, and customer relationship management, as well as working closely with the wider organisation to ensure Colt delivers on its vision of transforming the way the world works through the power of connectivity. Prior to this role, Andrew was Vice President – Global Enterprise, responsible for driving the organisation’s enterprise strategy. He was instrumental in leading his team to further accelerate partnerships and global networking solutions for Colt’s Enterprise, Capital Markets and Indirect Channels. He joined Colt in January 2018, from Level 3/CenturyLink communications where he held the position of Senior Vice President Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). During his career, Andrew has gained extensive leadership experience in sales, business operations, global and go to market strategies. Prior to Level 3/CenturyLink, Andrew held a number of executive positions at AT&T, most recently as Region Vice President – Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and previously as Vice President – Global Operations and Strategy based in the US. He is a native of the UK and a respected technology industry advocate, who has contributed to the Prince’s Trust as a Technology Leadership Group member.
