Overview

End-to-end connections delivered over our own infrastructure

Connect LANs within the same city (Ethernet Line Metro), within the same country (Ethernet Line National) or internationally (Ethernet Line International) with point-to-point circuits.

Our Ethernet Hub and Spoke service enables the aggregation of Ethernet Line Metro, National and International services onto a single interface at a single site.

Ethernet VPN provides any-to-any connectivity at the Ethernet layer. This means that any office can communicate with any other office on the network over a logical any-to-any topology.

Features

Features built for scale

Encryption

End-to-end data encryption on top of the base Ethernet Line service up to 10G. Available as standard for Ethernet Line Metro, National and International services in Europe, Asia and North America for on-net sites and off-net sites in Colt countries.

Performance reporting

Resilience + diversity

Ethernet Line and Hub and Spoke services are available as end-to-end protected by fibre pair failover, combined with the inherent protection of the core Colt network. The Diversity feature is used with two services to request delivery of the pair of services in a diverse relationship from one another.

Proactive monitoring

Proactive notification service, so in the event of any network related faults, a trouble ticket is raised, and resolution is progressed until the fault is resolved. Notifications are managed directly via the Colt Online portal.

Class of service

Class of Service is available for Ethernet VPN Metro, National and International services. This provides a means to differentiate the importance of application traffic and to allocate an explicit prioritisation. Five levels of prioritisation can be defined.

Link aggregation

Link Aggregation (LAG) provides port/interface resilience on the end CPE. This resilience is achieved through the configuration of redundancy on two physical interface with one acting as backup for the other.

FAQs

Ethernet Line (E-Line) is our point-to-point Ethernet service. We are able to deliver this service for Metro, National or International circuits in buildings and data centers thanks to our huge on-net footprint. We can also deliver Ethernet Line in buildings that are not connected with our own network using 3rd party leased lines. We also have a variant of Ethernet Line called Private Ethernet.

This is also a point-to-point Ethernet service but delivered with dedicated infrastructure (fibre + NTE) and it’s available in cities where we have our own network.

Ethernet Hub + Spoke (E-Line) provides point-to-multipoint service. End sites are called spoke sites and they’re all connected to a Hub site. All traffic coming from the spoke sites is gathered by the Hub site and delivered on a single customer interface (VLAN based). Hub + Spoke service is available for Metro, National or International circuits and similarly to Ethernet Line can be delivered in any Retail buildings and Datacenters connected by our network.  We can also use third party leased lines to connect off-net buildings.

Ethernet VPN (E-LAN) is a switched Layer 2 service that enables you to create a multi-site network which allows ‘any to any’ site connectivity. Using Ethernet VPN, build private corporate networks that interconnect offices and sites in retail buildings and data centers globally, supporting all types of business applications.

Yes, all our carrier Ethernet services are certified with the latest MEF 3.0 CE certification. You can check the MPLIFY's (formerly MEF) website here : https://www.mplify.net/certification/service-provider-certifications/service-registry/

We are able to provide a large range of bandwidth in our Ethernet portfolio from 2Mbps to 100Gbps as a standard.
