From intention to impact: Advancing accessibility and DEI

Published by Colt Technology Services on June 25, 2025

Accessibility and inclusion go hand in hand. Whether it’s improving how people access our services or building a culture where every individual feels they belong, we’re committed to creating a business where everyone can thrive.

That’s why we’re proud to share the latest milestones on our journey: the release of our Year 2 Accessibility Action Plan Progress Report and our 2024 DEI Progress Report.

Together, they reflect the progress we’ve made and the direction we’re heading as we strive to become the most inclusive telco.

Accessibility: Designing with everyone in mind

We’re now two years into our five-year Accessibility Action Plan and we’re seeing real change. In the last year, we focused on embedding accessibility across our processes, platforms and teams. Here’s a few highlights of what we’ve achieved together in Year 2:

  • Embedded accessibility considerations into the Programme Management Office (PMO) process and documentation
  • Embedded a core catalogue of easy-to-access assistive tech for our Colties
  • Built an accessibility area on colt.net which includes guidance documentation for our developer community and product managers
  • Delivered a core learning plan for our Community of Practice (Accessibility Guardian) group and IT helpdesk and workplace support teams

A focus on DEI

Our DEI Progress Report highlights the impact of our recent programmes and initiatives that have helped us become more diverse, equitable and inclusive. It also outlines the steps we’ve taken to enhance and embed an inclusive employee experience. Here’s a short summary:

  • We achieved a belonging score of 81 and an overall inclusion score of 84 in our People Matters survey
  • We successfully hosted an Inclusive Leadership programme attended by over 200 managers, promoting awareness and practical strategies for inclusivity
  • We partnered with numerous organisations to support marginalised communities, in particular Kids.org and Pure India Trust
  • We expanded the reach of our employee networks, creating safe spaces for connection and advocacy

These initiatives, from governance to advocacy, are helping us embed inclusion into everyday activities and make it part of who we are.

Looking ahead

Whether it’s making our tools more accessible, attracting and developing the best talent from all walks of life or listening and actioning feedback from our people, it’s clear that our journey to become a more inclusive employer is rooted in action, not just intention.
