Colt extends fibre reach to 3,000+ buildings in Poland ensuring it can meet the high bandwidth network demand of today and tomorrow

Warsaw, Poland, 10 March 2022Colt Technology Services has today announced that it is enhancing the reach of its Polish Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) in 6 cities across Poland; Katowice, Wroclaw, Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk and Poznan. As part of this expansion, Colt has enabled direct fibre connection to more than 3,000 buildings and 4 new data centres in Poznan, Katowice, Gdansk and Wroclaw, to ensure it can meet the global and local connectivity demands of enterprises. The Polish expansion ensures Colt continues to underpin the digital transformation of national and international businesses, as Poland undergoes a period of economic growth.

As global bandwidth demands continue to explode, and more and more enterprises rely on infrastructure hosted in the cloud, organisations are constantly looking for diversity when it comes to connectivity. This expansion is part of Colt’s wider expansion strategy, which aims to help customers across Europe, Asia and North America through the power of connectivity.

Colt continues to invest in its Colt IQ Network, further densifying its offering globally, which spans more than 29,000 on net buildings and over 900 data centres. This latest expansion aligns with Colt’s overarching strategy of enabling high bandwidths. This means global, agile, on-demand and secure high bandwidth networking and voice solutions. It will also ensure a better ability for the region to connect with the rest of the world.

“Connectivity is central to the future of every economy and, for Poland, Colt can be a key player in increasing competitiveness, boosting productivity and meeting the future demands of enterprises,” said Keri Gilder, CEO of Colt Technology Services. “Over the past year, demand for our network services has grown significantly in the Eastern and Central Europe region. The evolving landscape requires us to become more flexible, improve our time to market and bring innovation to our customers faster than ever. Poland is very important to Colt, and we want to make sure that the Colt IQ Network is capable of serving the growing connectivity requirements of cloud players opening regional hubs, while catering for the needs of enterprises, connecting from a building in Warsaw or Poznan to New York or Frankfurt, entirely on Colt’s IQ Network, drawing on our world class on demand capability.”

The global business environment is constantly evolving and the organisations are adapting their business structures to take into account new markets and opportunities. In 2018, Colt Technology Services has expanded its Colt IQ Network in Central and Eastern Europe, connecting major hubs like Warsaw and  Sofia in the region with more than 7,000km of new fibre infrastructure.

Recognised as a Visionary in the Gartner 2022 Magic Quadrant for Network Services, Colt also received Frost & Sullivan’s 2021 European Customer Value Leadership Award. The company has industry-leading Net Promotor Scores (NPS), reflecting Colt employees’ high motivation.
