Colt is furthering its presence in Scandinavia and Germany to support businesses both locally and globally

  • This latest expansion extends Colt’s global footprint, which includes new IQ Network POPs in Hamburg (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark), Oslo (Norway) and Stockholm (Sweden).

Frankfurt, Germany, 28 March 2023 – Colt Technology Services (Colt) has today announced that it has completed the deployment of a new IQ Network route, spanning Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm. This latest expansion further extends Colt’s global footprint, which includes new IQ Network PoPs in Hamburg (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark), Oslo (Norway) and Stockholm (Sweden), providing customers with access to dual PoPs in all of these cities. With this expansion, Colt enables the reinforcement of customers’ digital transformation through on-demand and high bandwidth services in the region and between Nordic locations and Europe’s major digital hubs like Paris (France), Barcelona (Spain) and Milan (Italy). Colt has also completed the deployment of a new IQ Network route between Hanover and Frankfurt, adding a new IQ Network PoP in Kassel and the Grass Merkur DC near Hanover (Germany).

Each new IQ Network PoP can provision the entire Colt IQ Network product set, up to 400Gb optical wave and up to 10Gb IP/Ethernet services. The rollout also builds a direct route from Hamburg to Frankfurt. The improvement in the Hamburg to Dusseldorf backbone section avoids the existing Colt Node in Hamburg, adding diversity options for the city. This important investment in the region will ensure that the Colt IQ Network can serve the growing connectivity requirements of digital enterprises. With its expanded regional presence, Colt will be better positioned to support organisations and enterprises in their digital transformation journeys.

Its third physical expansion project after Genoa (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain), this undertaking is its most significant, reinforcing its presence in Scandinavia and Germany. Colt operates in more than 220 cities in over 30 countries and connects more than 1,000 data centres and over 31,000 connected buildings in the largest business centres in Europe, Asia and North America.

We aim to be everywhere our customers do business, and that is why we’re expanding our presence in the North of Europe, said Keri Gilder, CEO of Colt Technology Services. Extending our reach in this critical region is part of Colt’s wider expansion strategy to bring exciting new opportunities to businesses in Europe and Asia, delivering digital infrastructure solutions wherever, however and whenever they want. We’re committed to meeting the growing demands of the local and international businesses that we serve around the world.

Over the past year, Colt has announced the significant expansion of its Colt IQ Network in Europe and Asia connecting Rome to Genoa in Northern Italy and reinforcing its coverage in South Korea.
