Colt’s Charity Bike Ride to travel from Milan to Rome

This year’s ride will see more than 120 Colt employees and sponsors cycling 685 kilometres over four days, across Italy, to help vulnerable children.

Colt Technology Services this week will commence its Annual Charity Bike Ride, which sees Colt staff and sponsors riding from Milan to Rome over four days. Now entering its seventh year, the event will see riders travel more than 685 kilometres, passing through five cities, all with the goal of raising money for charities that support children in need.

The Colt Bike Ride is the company’s single largest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event and over the past six years, Colt has raised more than €800,000 for charities across 16 countries that support underprivileged children.

When this event started, its aim was to ride the entire Colt network, and so far employees have ridden more than 3650km, over journeys that encompassed London to Paris, Paris to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Zurich, Marseille to Barcelona and Barcelona to Valencia.

“Colt is an organisation that strives to have CSR at its core,” said Carl Grivner, CEO at Colt. “The Colt Charity Bike Ride not only builds strong and lasting relationships between colleagues, suppliers and customers, it also aims to make a difference to the most vulnerable in the community. I’m proud to be involved in this year’s ride and I’m convinced that the 2018 event is going to make an even bigger impact than those before it.”

The Colt Charity Bike Ride is held every September, with 120 riders of all abilities from different countries taking part. Each rider will be raising funds for the local charity partner of the region they are from. Some of the charities that are being supported this year include; Dottor Sorriso (Clown Therapy) in Italy, Richard House Children’s Hospice in the UK and Aldeas Infantiles in Spain, a group that ensures children are given support and a stable environment if their parents are no longer around.
