Omega ATS: your gateway to Canada

Access to all the Canadian listed exchanges via a high-liquidity, low-cost trading venue

Omega ATS began operations in December 2007 as the second Canadian ATS to provide traders with an alternative venue for executions. It facilitates trading on all the major Canadian listed exchanges including TSX, TSXV, CNSX and Alpha.

Now one of the largest and fastest matching venues in Canada, it’s also one of the most cost effective for traders. Omega ATS:
• Pioneered the inverted pricing model for equities in Canada
• Is one of the most liquid venues in the country
• Charges no subscriber fees
• Offers the least costly market data feeds

All Canadian brokers and dealers are connected to Omega ATS and the venue is now focusing on attracting capital markets participants from the US and other geographies who want to access the Canadian markets. The company is preparing for growth with a technology and infrastructure build programme. Its aim is to reach 10% market share.

Clients can connect to Omega ATS via private circuits or using financial extranets, including Colt PrizmNet. Omega ATS expects that Colt PrizmNet’s strong presence in Europe and Asia, and rapidly increasing coverage in North America, will help it achieve its expansion objectives by simplifying connectivity for new clients in all geographies.

“Colt PrizmNet offers a different model from other financial extranets. In particular, the convenience for capital markets participants of being able to request connectivity themselves; as well as the extensive reporting provided via the portal, which we believe gives them far more control over their services than other extranets.” –Sean Debotte, CEO, Omega ATS
