To all those taking to the saddle for the annual Colt CSR bike ride.
Last year the ride from Amsterdam to Frankfurt raised an amazing £36,000 to help Coram provide its vital services to the vulnerable children and young people it supports every year. One year later…and Colt is planning its next cycling endeavour from Frankfurt to Zurich and Coram is so proud to be selected as the benefiting charity in the UK again for the Colt CSR bike ride in 2015. Thanks to the support of Colt we are able to continue our mission to create a change that lasts a lifetime.
The challenges children face today are far more diverse compared to 275 years ago, when Captain Thomas Coram set up founded the UK’s first children’s charity. Coram continues to support the nation’s most vulnerable children; those who have suffered abuse, neglect and trauma in their early years. With Colt’s support, Coram can help these children to overcome their traumatic past – creating a change that lasts a lifetime.
Thanks to Colt and their continued enthusiasm to raise money through fantastic events such as ‘Strictly Colt Dancing’ and now through completing another incredible 450km cycling challenge, we are able to continue our great work to ensure that every child gets the best possible chance in life.
With the funds received from Colt so far we have transformed the lives of over 2,000 children and young people.
• 2,100 school children have received our interactive health education service; learning how to lead healthy lives and keep themselves safe
• We have helped 19 vulnerable children to find their ‘forever family’ – placing them in loving, stable homes
• 10 children have received our amazing music and art based therapy to help them to overcome the trauma experienced in their early years
• 4 families have access to post-adoption support – for life, enabling the families we work with to stay together & thrive
On top of this, with every £1 you raise, 90p of this will go straight to the services we run to support children and young people in London. Making us one of the most efficient charities in the UK.
