Colt brings On Demand connectivity to Oracle Cloud Zurich

John Armenakas, Principal – Global Strategic Partnerships, Colt Technology Services

This year our partnership with Oracle has risen to the next level; in February we announced dedicated, private and on-demand access to Oracle Cloud through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) FastConnect in the UK and since then, the partnership has been further expanded to additional regions Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Osaka.

Now, Colt can connect to OCI in Zurich. This expanded collaboration allows customers to take advantage of on-demand, high-speed, secure connectivity from their sites to Oracle Cloud.

This is good news for Swiss enterprises and our international customers with Swiss operations. They are all facing changing business demands that require a new level of performance, reliability and security. Combined with the unprecedented speed at which the Covid-19 outbreak impacted all sectors, forcing many to accelerate transformation plans, reliable, secure and flexible cloud connectivity is key. Many Swiss-based enterprises are giants in the field of financial services and life sciences, so these businesses can benefit from a superior connectivity experience when utilising and migrating to OCI

That’s why we’ve invested in our relationships with key Cloud Service Providers such as Oracle because, without such partnerships, enterprises wouldn’t be able to benefit from the business transformation that the cloud can facilitate.

Pairing a secure, global, intelligent and flexible network with an enterprise cloud platform built on a heritage of enterprise reliability and trust, Colt and Oracle deliver a best-in-class, end-to-end, cloud experience.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect provides dedicated connectivity to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and other Oracle Cloud services. It provides a more reliable and consistent networking experience versus public internet-based connections.

Colt On Demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure allows customers to self-provision secure, high bandwidth connectivity to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure regions in a matter of minutes, enabling them to scale bandwidth up or down in near-real-time. Enterprises benefit from a network optimised for the cloud and supporting connectivity to and from 16 connected cities, 1,100+ connected enterprise buildings and 47 connected data centres in Switzerland.

These next few years will see enterprises starting to migrate more and more business-critical applications to the cloud. To deliver a truly successful cloud experience you need a network that reacts in the same way as the cloud – flexibly and intuitively.
