Colt has been named a Stonewall Top Global Employer for 2022, which recognises the best multinational employers for the LGBTQ+ community.

Stonewall’s Top Global Employers list is based on the LGBTQ+ charity’s Global Workplace Equality Index, a benchmarking tool which helps employers create more inclusive workplaces across their markets. The Global Index empowers organisations to navigate the challenges of upholding inclusive values globally and make progress towards LGBTQ+ equality, wherever they operate.

The best-performing employers receive Top Global Employer awards to recognise and celebrate their progress. At Colt, we’re thrilled to have been named a Top Global Employer out of 26 companies and to be given a Bronze award by Stonewall for our commitment to the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer people globally in the workplace.

Keri Gilder, Colt CEO, said:

“Creating an inclusive workplace is woven into our DNA, and the Top Global Employer award from Stonewall showcases what Inclusion and Diversity mean for us at Colt. Making sure that all our people feel a sense of belonging and inclusion is a top priority, and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved so far.”

What have we done in the past year?

We have an LGBTQ+ and Allies network called Pride Matters, which aims to raise issues of LGBTQ+ experiences in the workplace and provide education on how to be an ally. We have a global committee that drives a lot of initiatives to do just that in the business. Here’s a snippet of some of the activities we’ve done in the past year:

  • Ally and inclusion training, driving education across our business so that more of our employees feel included and able to thrive in the workplace
  • Webinars across the globe, with well-attended sessions in our Asia offices. We also hosted webinars with some of our partners like Ciena and Santander
  • We’ve hosted and participated in webinars with myGwork, a global recruitment and networking hub for LGBTQ+ professionals, graduates, allies, and organisations
  • Partnering with charities such as LGBTQ+ migrant organisation, Micro Rainbow, to provide a freephone number and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) free of charge to support them and help with routing calls

As a company, we still have more to do when it comes to inclusion and diversity and we’re always striving to be better. This award from Stonewall shows we’re on the right track and making significant progress. We’re tremendously proud to be recognised by Stonewall as a Top Global Employer.
