HomeNewsIndependent research firm cites Colt as a leader in report

Colt, a leading provider of business communications and IT managed services, has been named a strong leader in the April 2010 report “The Forrester WaveTM: European WAN Services, Q2 2010,” Forrester Research, Inc., April, 2010.”

In Forrester’s 58-criteria evaluation of 12 European WAN service providers, Colt is a leader in Europe against Forrester’s Network Performance and Enterprise Customer Base scoring criteria and cited as one of the “more advanced” market players in both Ethernet services and hybrid networks.

Colt received strong scores across all categories and the Report highlights a leader position for “European firms looking for aggressive Ethernet performance and best prices.” The report positions Colt as “a pioneer in Europe in offering up to 4- Mbps Ethernet access on unbundled copper loops” with its “Next Generation Ethernet platform having been rolled our across all of mainland Europe.” The report states that Colt’s E-Line, E-Trend and E-LAN services have “attracted more than 1,000 financial services customers” and, having recently launched its new, fully-integrated ‘on-demand’ cloud computing platform, the report suggests that Colt is particularly appealing to “customers with demanding network requirements closely matching its 15-country footprint.”

Other evaluation criteria in which Colt received high scores were: breadth of offering, scalability, operations support systems, service pricing, service-level agreements, market strategy, 2010 strategic plans, sales capabilities and viability.

Rakesh Bhasin, CEO at Colt, said: "We believe this report confirms that our solutions continue to resonate with customers across Europe. Networking is at the heart of our groundbreaking Information Delivery Platform and we believe this report demonstrates that we continue to offer customers unrivalled choice, reach and performance. By integrating networking and IT managed services we are really building a platform that enables customers to share, deliver, process and manage their business information effectively, without interruption or disruption.”
