Colt and NESIC to collaborate on Microsoft Azure-driven IoT platform service

Tokyo, 21 February 2017 – Colt Technology Services has announced that it will be providing dedicated network connectivity to the cloud for NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation’s Internet of Things (IoT) Platform Service, which leverages Microsoft Azure. The connectivity will be powered by Colt’s Cloud Connectivity Service, a service that is focused on stability and security.

The IoT Platform Service from NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation (NESIC) boasts a variety of features that leverage Microsoft Azure, including data collection, visualisation, and even machine learning for data analysis. NESIC’s Wireless Direct Access for Azure option also provides a guaranteed, secure and reliable link that bypasses the internet by establishing a grounded connection to Microsoft Azure via Colt’s low-latency, private network.

Colt began expanding support for the IoT market in 2016, bringing significant technical knowledge and expertise cultivated from providing network infrastructure to the financial sector and applying it to the IoT market.

I’m quite pleased by this partnership with Colt as it will enhance the ability of NESIC Direct Access for Azure to provide exceptional reliability and security for users. Now, with Colt’s high-quality network and their superb track record for providing cloud connections, we plan to serve more customers that demand the utmost in quality and reliability in their network. I look forward to furthering development of enterprise-level IoT solutions through this partnership. Takayuki Nakagawa, NESIC General Manager and Head of IoT Business Development
We’re extremely grateful for the high praise from NESIC regarding Colt’s secure and reliable low-latency network, as well as for our track record for our other services. Colt will continue to remove the IT burden from enterprise customers with our technology so they have the agility and flexibility to focus on their core business as we transition through the digital high-bandwidth revolution. We intend to fully contribute to the development of the quickly expanding IoT market by empowering NESIC’s customers through Colt’s services. Kenji Hioki, Colt CCO Asia and Regional Executive
